1. Do
you service all transmissions; domestic, foreign, and standard?.....
Campbell's Transmission Service repairs only domestic automatic transmissions.
2. Can I get a cost estimate from your business before I bring in my vehicle?..... Giving you a cost estimate without checking your transmission would be a great disservice to you. Automatic transmissions have many components and electronic sensors that must be tested before we can give you an accurate cost estimate. Noises, whines and other symptoms can be caused by many different components which again will have to be tested by our technicians.
3. Do I have to have an appointment before I drop my car off at your repair station?..... We currently have 2 full time technicians. To insure we can properly diagnosis your vehicle and get you back on the road in a timely manner, we operate on an appointment basis only. This ensures we are available to service you transmission problem when we receive your car.
4. I have never had a transmission problem. Should I have it checked or transmission fluid changed?.....Of course! Most manufacturers have a maintenance checkup schedule included in the owners manual. Our recommendation is to service your transmission at 30,000 mile intervals and if your vehicle is for commercial/heavy duty usage, then we recommend 10,000 mile service intervals. The transmission fluid, like your engine oil, will break down over time and can lead to major mechanical problems.
5. Would you replace my faulty transmission with a used one that I can get cheaper at the local salvage yard?..... You can get a cheap transmission at the local salvage yard, but we would not install the unit. We could not guarantee the used transmission. The service life of the transmission would be in question...MOST LIKELY costing you more in the long run!
